ASBESTOS checks were carried out at Barclays Bank in Sawbridgeworth after a ceiling tile fell down.
Experts were called in yesterday (Monday, February 25) as a precaution due to the age of the building.
The office in which the tile came away was closed off to staff at the Knight Street branch until the all-clear was given.
A Barclays spokesman said: "On Monday 25th February, a tile fell down in one of our offices in our Sawbridgeworth branch which was reported to our property action line.
"As a precaution, a specialist firm checked to make sure there was no hazard with regard to asbestos. The air filter test was found not to contain any danger to health and we were given the all clear for our branch to open as normal."
