Children sent home from Stortford primary school after water main bursts

CHILDREN are being sent home from a primary school and a road is closed after a burst water main caused chaos in Bishop’s Stortford today (Wednesday September 8).

Richard Whittington School in Thornbera Gardens shut at 1pm and parents were being advised to go to the reception area to collect their children.

“School will re-open as usual tomorrow, but please check ParentMail, the hotline or the website for an update,” read a statement put out on the primary school’s website..

The burst is in Obrey Way and police have closed that road at its junction with Villiers Sur Marne Avenue and Thorley Lane.
