Man taken to hospital after Stortford river fall

A MAN has been taken to hospital after falling into the River Stort in Bishop’s Stortford today (Tuesday February 7).

The East of England Ambulance Service was called to Twyford Lock in Pig Lane at 12.04pm.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “The man, who we believe to be in his 40s, received a facial injury and was very cold.

"Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, for further care.”
