Police use trap cars to cut crime in Bishop's Stortford

POLICE are using trap cars at hot spots in Bishop’s Stortford in a bid to help combat vehicle crime.

Car keys in ignitionThe town has been hit by a string of thefts over the past weeks with vans and cars broken into and power tools, computer equipment and other gear worth thousands stolen.

The latest incidents saw surveying equipment worth £350 taken after the back windows of two Vauxhall Astra vans at The Causeway car park were smashed last Tuesday, August 24.

In Braizier Quay a bag containing clothing, £20 and 50 euros was stolen from a Ford Fiesta between 3pm on Thursday, August 26, and noon on Friday, August 27.
