STANSTED Manor Hotel is to become a Travelodge following the sale of its management lease.
The 70-bedroom property off the A120 near Junction 8 of the M11 will undergo a full brand conversion as part of the 25-year deal. Previously it was managed by Best Western Hotels.
The three-star hotel, which stands in eight acres of woodland and features a restaurant, conference/function room with capacity for 35 and a marquee which can accommodate up to 200 people, will remain the property of Compass Hotels.
Chief executive Julian Tee said: “We’ve enjoyed the last seven years of trading at Stansted Manor and are grateful to the many loyal customers we have gained.
“The association with Best Western has been valuable. However, from a commercial and strategic position, this is the right move for Compass to free up resources and concentrate on management opportunities.”
