RHODES panto stars Nurse Trott and the Sheriff of Nottingham hit the high street to promote the town’s Uniquely Stortford campaign.
The duo popped in to meet some of the 60 independent retailers backing the initiative to boost business and get people shopping locally in the run-up to Christmas.
First stop was Elements in South Street for a spot of pampering before starting their spree in earnest. It was then off to Rondzi shoe shop and kids’ store Bambini, both in The Dells, before heading to Urban Spa in Devoils Lane, Coopers and Ce The Jeweller, both in Bridge Street, and Host in Market Square.
Laden with shopping bags, their last stop was Gilbeys restaurant at Pearsons in North Street for a well-deserved cup of tea.
Uniquely Stortford was launched earlier this month to celebrate and promote the unique treats on offer in the town.
As the festive season draws nearer, businesses will be putting on all kinds of events to build a buzz around Stortford’s shops and make more residents aware of the hidden gems on their doorstep.
