Baby Business Week 50: Peekaboo... again!

Ate carrot crisps. Fed them to the dog! Tick

A NUMBER of weeks back (well months actually) I wrote about how us mums have to be very creative when it comes to entertaining our little ones... especially in a time of ‘emergencies’ (those final few seconds of warming milk!). Well, creativity and thinking-on-your-feet continues to be a vital skill to have, but things have changed...

Baby BusinessOnce upon a time my little baby looked to me with wide expectant eyes, a look of anticipation on her face and a note of required-reassurance. Now, if I look pensive, worried or a bit distant, then it is my little girl who comes to my rescue:

It started with sharing her toys with me (as long as I don’t try to actually take them off her!);

She then started offering me her food at meal times (and in more recent weeks, snatching it back at the last second and then laughing!);

Peekaboo... oops, forgot about the porridge!
Peekaboo... oops, forgot about the porridge!

Then she would bring her toys up to me for kisses (not sure if I was meant to kiss them or they were kissing me... I did sport a rather lovely bruise on my cheek from an over-affectionate tambourine!);

The next phase was playing ‘Peekaboo’ with me (first from behind pillars, then her bib at meal times, moving on to her bowl at meal times (lovely mess!) and then this week she snuck off behind the curtains to play peekaboo with me);

But without a shadow of a doubt, and even though all the things above make me smile and melt my heart, there has been nothing like my little girls latest method of making me happy... giving me the bestest biggest sloberriest kisses... and if I am really lucky, a bit of dribble too.
