BISHOP'S Stortford's new vinyl record emporium, Moon Unit in the Half Moon pub has its first celebrity fan - radio DJ, television presenter, author and singer Lauren Laverne.

The 35-year-old former front-woman of Kenickie, pictured, is now the proud owner of one of the outlet's three rare copies of Arcade Fire's Reflektor single, thanks to boss Simon Baker. He gifted her the disc after appearing on her BBC Radio 6 Music show with singer songwriter Mary Epworth.

The Stortford musician explained: "I was on Lauren's show on 6 Music with Mary Epworth – I'm her drummer – recording a live session. We overheard her mention on air during the show that she hadn't managed to get hold of a copy of the uber-limited Arcade Fire single Reflektor.

"I've managed to get hold of three copies for Moon Unit Records, which we currently have in our racks, so was able to let Lauren have a copy, which made her very happy! We're hoping for a mention on the show when she receives it."

Simon added: "Moon Unit opened on August 26 and we've had a lot of interest from local music fans both young and old. We will be launching the Moon Unit Records website in the next two weeks, which features 10,000 vinyl titles available to buy."
