Bath-time bliss
Lydia Fallon celebrates her love affair with the tub by testing out the best bath products on the market.
Forget team Edward and team Jacob, the question to really ask yourself is, are you team bath or team shower?
For me it’s team bath all the way, it doesn’t matter if I have had the most horrible and stressful day, when I dip my toes into a warm, soapy bath, everything is alright again. For that moment in time, I am in my own little bubbly paradise.
If I am feeling really crazy I will grab a cuppa and my favourite magazine and soak for a good hour. I don’t care if there are other things I should be doing or people I should be seeing, a bath is for me and only me (and that includes a big, fat no to the other half)
To celebrate my unwavering love affair with the tub, I decided to try out the best bath products on the market
Soap and glory Clean Girls body wash, £5.87, Boots
I’m not going to lie, I do love soap and glory products. The packaging, scents and variety tempt me every time. I just think they are fun and girly and also perfect for gifts. At first sniff I was a little unsure about the smell of clean girls; it reminded me of babies, which isn’t really what I want to be smelling of at 22 years of age. But actually the smell really grew on me, I decided that the smell on my skin was more like vanilla and rose petals and less like babies (or maybe I just like the smell of babies more than I first thought!)
I found this body wash to be thick, creamy and lather up really nicely, I had a few issues with the squirty bottle but that was my only real qualm. It has a built in moisturising matrix and left my skin silky smooth the next day. It is also really good value for your money as the bottle is huge and will last ages. Overall I give it a big thumbs up, Soap and Glory you didn’t let me down!

Botanics Luxurious Bath Elixir, £2.79, Boots
The name bath elixir has a mysterious quality that quite excited me. I had no idea what it meant, but I definitely wanted to find out. I was worried that it might not create the bubbles that I love, but I was pleasantly surprised when my bath was filled with a sea of glorious foam. The smell to, is a feast for your senses, a mixture of exotic plants, with key ingredient Island Moss apparently having the powers to hydrate and sooth!
Having read that the bath elixir helps soothe tired muscles and relieve everyday stresses and strains, I decided to sample it after an exhausting gym session. Although you cannot deny its relaxing qualities, I still woke up the day after with standard aching muscles, miracle elixir it aint! But still a very good effort Botanics.

Radox Eastern Spirit Bath Therapy, £1.70, Boots
This bath therapy was an absolute treat, Radox has a great reputation and certainly didn’t disappoint. All day I had been having sneaky sniffs of the bottle so was actually quite excited when bath-time was upon me. As I poured it under the warm running water, the gorgeous orange and lotus infused scent filled up the whole bathroom taking me to my own oriental paradise.
It created loads of bubbles which stuck around for ages, which is often not the case and I found the whole aroma to be lovely and relaxing. Pure bath-time bliss, Radox I salute you.

I love... Strawberries & Milkshake Bath Crème, £2.03, Superdrug
Do you remember Hubba Bubba strawberry bubble gum? Well those of you that do, this bath crème smells exactly like it! A little sickly sweet, but top marks to Superdrug for getting so much oomph in the smell, it definitely packs a punch.
It also had the bubble factor and probably created the biggest and best bubbles out of the four products I have tested. It’s a bargain at £2.03, but I think it will divide the general public, you will either love it or hate it. Personally I was a fan.
