Eastwick fatal crash cyclist came from High Wych

THE cyclist killed in a crash on the A414 near Eastwick has today, Wednesday December 16, been named by police as 54-year-old John Brace-Day of High Wych.

He died when his bicycle was involved in a collision with a lorry just before 7.30am yesterday on the westbound carriageway near to the Briggens House Hotel.

Mr Brace-Day died at the scene of the accident.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the collision.

PC Kevin Sloan, of the Roads Policing Unit at Herts police's Welwyn Garden City headquarters, said: "I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they saw the incident to contact me.

"Also, if you saw a pedal cyclist prior to the incident travelling towards Stansted Abbotts from Harlow please get in contact.
