ESSEX Police made 114 arrests at Chelmsford's V Festival over the weekend including 22 for drug-dealing.
The majority of those apprehended were sniffed out by the police drug dogs, who were identifying those carrying contraband at the entrances to the Hylands Park venue.
As of 11pm last night (Sunday August 18), officers had made: 75 arrests for drug possession; 22 for drug-dealing; six for assaults; one for disqualified driving; two for theft; two for rowdy and disorderly behaviour; three for fraud; and three for drink-driving.
Policing co-ordinator, Chief Supt Andy Prophet, said: "All our officers have been doing a great job, working with the V Festival organisers to make sure this fantastic event was a safe and fun one.
"The work of our drugs dogs in sniffing out those in supplying drugs has been a key element in our tactics this year and its one that has worked really well.”
"We would like to thank all the festival-goers for taking note of our crime prevention advice and hope that they enjoyed the weekend."
