Bishop's Stortford FC book spot in Herts Charity Cup Final

THERE was no upset as Bishop’s Stortford won 1-0 at Evo-Stik League Southern Premier division side Hemel Hempstead Town in the Herts Charity Cup semi-final tonight (Tuesday January 31).

Hemel play one step below Stortford in the non-league pyramid and the game’s sole goal came after seven minutes.

Ricky Sappleton’s shot beat ex-Blues keeper Ross Kitteridge from 12 yards.

Blues midfielder Scott Shulton went off with a hamstring injury on 66 minutes.

He was replaced by Paco Craig who made his first appearance in more than two months.

Craig was returning after recovering from a broken toe.

Stortford will face Spartan South Midlands League premier division side Leverstock Green in the final.
