Southam's second spell at Stortford ends but Blues sign two new players

GLEN Southam has left the Blues to join Blue Square Premier club Histon.

LEAVING: Glen Southam has left the Blues to join Blue Square premier club HistonThe 29-year-old midfielder will be teaming up with former Blues teammate Gareth Gwillim at the Stutes.

Southam had also been linked with a move to Blue Square premier club Stevenage Borough but this fell through.

Southam re-joined Bishop's Stortford in late October after he left Coca Cola Football League Two club Hereford United by mutual consent earlier this season.

He had joined Hereford in the summer after a five-year spell at Dagenham and Redbridge.

Southam joined the Daggers after a successful four-year stint at Woodside Park which saw him gain the player-of-the-year award three times.

Meanwhile, two players have been added to Stortford's squad.

West Ham United youngster and keeper Deniz Mehmet has joined on work experience terms.

He has represented Turkey at Under-17 level and is rated as a very exciting prospect.

Striker Victor Boyle-Renner returns to Stortford after he played for the Blues back in the 2003-04 season.

Renner has recently played for Waltham Forest in Ryman League division one north.
