REECE Prestedge took his tally from midfield to four goals in five Blue Square South league games as Bishop's Stortford ended a run of two straight defeats in prolific style.
The Blues had lost two successive matches by 3-0 and the omens did not look good when they went 1-0 down in the first half against Thurrock this afternoon (Saturday August 28).
However, Stortford fought back and went in front with goals either side of half-time before holding out for most of the second half as Prestedge hit a late spot-kick to make sure of the three points.
The hosts opened the scoring on 25 minutes when Cliff Akurang tucked in from the penalty spot.
But Stortford were level just three minutes before the break.
Sanchez Ming fired in from 20 yards out.
Prestedge put the visitors in front when he rifled in a free-kick on 50 minutes.
The midfielder then put the result beyond doubt with an 88th-minute penalty.
The result send Stortford up to fifth.
