BLUES will be without strikers Danny Morgan and Leon Antoine for a fortnight, but boss Mark Simpson has stepped up his hunt for a central midfielder.
Simpson has lined up a player from a Ryman League division one north club and hopes to sign him next week.
Morgan (hamstring) is building up his match fitness.
Antoine sustained a hamstring injury in the 3-0 loss against Ebbsfleet United on Saturday.
George Daly, who has joined the club after being released by League Two club Wycombe Wanderers, could feature this Saturday at Thurrock.
Daly, who can play on the wing or up front, made his debut as a sub at Dartford on Tuesday.
“George will be a good asset once he gets fit. He had a back problem and was out for seven months,” said Blues boss Mark Simpson.
Stortford are at home to Bromley on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm) in Blue Square South.
Simpson has been delighted with the early form of midfielder Reece Prestedge, who has scored two goals in four games and was at the heart of Stortford’s best work on Saturday against Ebbsfleet.
“Reece is doing really well. He’s got a couple of goals and he’s such an honest player. Him and Max [Lette Jallow] have been doing really well.”
Defender Ritchie Jones is expected to sit out Monday’s game as he serves a one-match ban for his red card against Ebbsfleet.
Having missed two penalties in two games, Simpson is unsure who will take the next one. “If a player feels confident on the day then he can take it. Our luck’s got to change,” he added.
* BLUES’ young central defender Chris Sargent has joined Ryman division one north side Ware on loan.
