WINTER Wonderland will meet Boogie Wonderland this festive season after Hertfordshire disco band Uncle Funk announced they are to play a special Christmas show in Bishop’s Stortford.

The popular nine-piece tribute band have been together for 15 years and have regularly sold out Saffron Walden’s Town Hall at Christmas, often months in advance. This year the Walden show sold quicker than ever and as a result the band decided to book a second slot at Water Lane United Reformed Church Hall in Bishop’s Stortford, on Saturday, December 21.

Uncle Funk went down a storm in the town earlier this year when they played at Stortford Music Festival.

“We really enjoyed the show at this year’s Stortfest,” commented singer Simon Baker, who lives in the town and also runs the new record shop, Moon Unit, based at The Half Moon’s Long Room in North Street.

“The Saffron Walden Christmas show is such a success every year that we thought we’d try the same approach here in Stortford. We will be playing our full two-hour show with a few surprises thrown in - it’s a great way to start your Christmas celebrations!”

Tickets are £15, available from Moon Unit Records or online at www.kabodler.com.
