Kids can meet CBeebies stars

YOUNGSTERS can get up close and personal with two of children’s television’s biggest stars when CBeebies presenters Chris and Pui come to Bishop’s Stortford.

The pair, best known as the face of BBC kids’ favourite Show Me Show Me, are bringing their newly-launched stage show to the town’s arts venue Rhodes on February 17.

Tots and young children who come along to the show will have a chance to sing, dance and join in with the double-act, who will perform songs and sketches with plenty of audience participation.

They can bring their favourite doll, stuffed toy or plastic figure for one of the routines, in which Chris and Pui discover new things and bring some of their on-screen antics to life. They will also be signing autographs afterwards.

Chris Jarvis and Pui Fan Lee have been working together for a decade and have been working in children’s telly for over 16 years. They were the first ever presenters of the Beeb’s CBeebies slot, which was launched for under-6 audiences in 2002.

A former Butlin’s redcoat, Chris kicked off his broadcasting career with what was then known as Children’s BBC, appearing with the likes of Zoe Ball and Josie D’Arby. His credits include stints in evergreen favourite Chucklevision and dark comic drama The Demon Headmaster.

Pui Fan Lee’s first major children’s role did little to make her famous - she donned the suit of the Teletubbies’ Po in 1996 – but the LAMDA-trained actress has also enjoyed grown-up parts in State of Play, Chef! and Metrosexuality.
