THIS week we have a little something different - an upper class burger no less. Stilton burgers anyone?!
This tasty recipe contains a delicious surprise - encased in this crunchy burger is lightly melted stilton cheese
Ingredients (Serves 4)
450g minced ground beef
1 onion, very finely chopped
1 celery stick finely chopped
1 tsp mixed dried herbs
1 tsp mustard
50g crumbled stilton cheese
4 burger buns
Salt and pepper
Method
1) Reheat the grill. Place the minced beef in a bowl with the chopped onion and celery. Mix together and season with salt and pepper.
2) Stir in the herbs and mustard, bringing all the ingredients together to form a mixture.
3) Divide the mixture into eight equal portions. Place four on a chopping board and flatten each one slightly into a round. (Use a little bit of water on your hands to stop mixture sticking).
4) Divide the crumbled cheese between the four rounds, placing a portion in the centre of each. Flatten the remaining portions and place on top, encasing the crumbled cheese completely and shape into four burgers.
5) Grill under a medium heat, turning once, for ten minutes or until cooked all the way through. Split the burger buns and place the burgers inside each. Serve with a freshly made salad and pickles of your choice!
I am still holding out with a little summer recipe every now and again. I know next week we’ll have to get going with some truly lovely autumnal recipes, but for now, relax and savour, and until next time, happy cooking!
