Video: Final Fantasy XIII-2
Designed as a direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII but one that can also be played without knowledge of its predecessor, this is RPG gaming at its most ambitious and elaborate.
If you enjoy amazing visuals and cut-scenes or complex storylines that you can sink into for weeks, then this certainly delivers.
Some of the more restrictive features that did not prove so popular with Final Fantasy fans last time around have gone, and larger, more interactive environments are available to explore, along with time travel options. Rather neatly, the scenery, weather, flora and fauna change depending on when you visit a scene.
An enhanced battle system is another key feature, including an interesting battle clock idea that rewards and punishes players.
With more than 150 monsters that can be recruited, each with its own abilities, plus multiple endings and side quests, this is one title that will keep fans busy for a long time.
