VIDEO: New single for Stortford's Charli XCX

ELECTRO-pop queen Charli XCX is celebrating the launch of her latest video with a support tour with The Ting Tings.

The former Bishop’s Stortford College pupil, who grew up in nearby Start Hill, hit the road with the Manchester duo last Thursday for a week-long series of gigs across the UK.

Famed for catchy 2008 chart-topper That’s Not My Name and accompanying singles Shut Up And Let Me Go and Great DJ, The Ting Tings recently released sophomore album Sounds From Nowheresville.

Now 19, Charli has been performing under her gothic, glamourous and gleefully bonkers alter ego since she was 14, and was playing in other bands well before that.

After making a name on London’s underground circuit, she was snapped up by Warner’s Asylum Records label. Her previous single Stay Away was made the Guardian Guide’s pick of the week and supported by Radio 1 DJs like Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton and Pete Tong.
