THIS opens up loads of possibilities from unusual angles using the buildings’ or structures’ architectural merits, inside or out.
It could be a church, synagogue, mosque or any other place used to for worship.
Depending on the time of day, light coming through coloured glass will illuminate the buildings structure and contents.
If you’re fortunate to be able to pay a few visits at different times of the day you’ll see more potential. Remember that light plays the most important role in photography.
Use the different conditions to your favour and don’t forget to take your time looking about before you even turn your camera on. See with your own eyes first. Move around and observe the subtle changes that occur.
When you’re happy with what you see, then it’s time to capture that image. If you can, use a reflector to bounce light back into your scene for a more even light.
A large piece of white paper will make all the difference and can be folded up for easy portability. Remember, it’s all in the preparation! Good luck.
ALL ENTRIES MUST HAVE BEEN TAKEN WITHIN THE HERTS & ESSEX OBSERVER CIRCULATION AREA (East Herts and North West Essex) BY SOMEONE RESIDENT IN THAT AREA WITHIN THE CALENDAR MONTH OF THE COMPETITION.
Rotary Young Photographer 2011
