Engine trouble hits Stansted-bound jet

By Sinead Holland

A RYANAIR flight bound for Stansted Airport from Bremen in Germany was diverted to Holland with engine trouble.

Herts and Essex Observer - RyanairA spokesman for the Irish budget airline told the Observer: “Flight FR3633 … suffered an unidentified engine problem in flight. The crew followed Ryanair safety procedures by shutting down the relevant engine and landing safely at the nearest diversionary airport.”

A spare Ryanair aircraft and engineering crew went to Amsterdam Schipol Airport to take passengers on to Stansted on Monday, leaving Ryanair engineers to examine and make the necessary repairs, if any, to the affected engine.

Passengers were provided with refreshments during their four-and-a-half-hour wait. The spokesman said: “Ryanair apologises for this unexpected delay, but safety will always be Ryanair’s number one priority."
