If you want it done, get someone in!

If your desire to do it yourself sometimes fails you, you're not alone.

According to new research from Legal & General, we're becoming a nation of YDIers - which stands for 'you do it' - by employing people to do jobs in the home and garden.

The study found that 41 per cent of us get in the professionals to do day-to-day chores, including odd job people (17 per cent), gardeners (also 17 per cent) and window cleaners (61 per cent), which is estimated to cost almost £700 a year per household.
Thirty per cent of those surveyed said that they preferred not to do these chores themselves, 29 per cent said that they didn't have the equipment to do them and 16 per cent said that they didn't know how to do them
